NGO Field Dynamics: Khalsa College Students Study Ludhiana NGOs Like Nar Seva Foundation
On 13 July 2026, Khalsa College for Women in Civil Lines, Ludhiana, held a comprehensive mock presentation on the theme 'NGO Field Dynamics' — and organisations like Nar Seva Foundation in Ludhiana were at the heart of what these young researchers came to understand. Held in collaboration with City-Needs Innovation Pvt Ltd, the event was the final stage of a field-study project designed to help students grasp how NGOs work and how grassroots social problems are actually solved.
From the classroom to the field
Rather than reading about social work from a textbook, the students went out and lived it. Over the course of the project, Khalsa College women — joined by students from various local schools — visited local NGOs in the City-Needs network and interacted directly with community workers, field managers and beneficiaries. They studied how these organisations operate across social, environmental and educational fields, and returned with a far more honest picture of what service on the ground demands.
